About

Tenor Zachary Taylor has been lauded for his “honeyed, pliant tenor” and “sincere” portrayals. He has held residencies with several companies, including Des Moines Metro Opera, Pensacola Opera, Nashville Opera and currently the Florentine Opera in Milwaukee, where he is a Baumgartner Studio Artist. Zachary’s most recent performances include the whimsical servant Ali in Zémire et Azor with Berkshire Opera Festival, a celebrated portrayal of Justice Antonin Scalia in Derrick Wang’s Scalia/Ginsburg with Florentine Opera, and as the lovesick sailor Ralph Rackstraw in Nashville Opera’s H.M.S. Pinafore. He has also performed with Opera Carolina, the Charlotte Symphony, the Greensboro Symphony, the Greensboro Choral Society, the Pensacola Choral Society, and Music on Site, among others.

As a member of the Baumgartner Studio with Florentine Opera for the 2026-27 season, Zachary will sing Gastone and cover Alfredo in La Traviata, sing Gherardo and cover Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, and sing the First Armored Man and cover Tamino in Die Zauberflöte.
